THE POSITION: We are seeking a new paralegal to handle a diverse range of cases. Spanish speaking fluency and writing proficiency is strongly preferred. The position will have many traditional paralegal job duties, including:
- Gathering information and evidence from clients to assemble immigration applications;
- Assembling and filing immigration applications;
- Tracking and monitoring filed applications for entire assigned caseload;
- Speaking with existing and potential clients on the phone; Meeting with clients to draft declarations in support of their applications; Following and contributing to operating procedures for how immigration work is done;
- Based on experience, training less senior and new staff members;
- Supporting the attorneys in a variety of other legal tasks.
We are open to considering individuals who prefer less than full-time, but at least 20 hours a week is required. The position is based in the Lakewood, CO office.
SALARY RANGE: $20-28 (Dependent on Experience)
BENEFITS: Health Care Plan, 10 PTO days a year (if full-time), 6 paid holidays. We would like to implement Retirement Benefits in 2023, but contingent on business conditions.
LOCATION: Lakewood, CO.
STRONG CANDIDATES WILL HAVE (However, we will consider candidates who do not meet all of the criteria below):
- A genuine interest in immigration law and a desire to help our diverse clientele.
- Bilingual in Spanish and English.
- Attention to detail and strong organizational skills are a must.
- Experience in the field of immigration law and/or working with diverse populations in an office setting.
- Ability to work independently and with time, have full responsibility for entire immigration applications (though always with attorney oversight).
- A desire to be part of a growing firm, and to constantly improve our firm and the services we offer to our clientele.
- Professionalism, good writing skills and ability to interact well with clients, electronically, on the telephone, and in-person.
